What Time do you go to bed (NOT With me Ma)

I tend to go to bed at various times, as my body clock is all over the place.

Working a graveyard shift in my 20's f'ed me all up...plus my refusal to hit the sack unless I'm feeling tired (otherwise I'll toss and turn). Until a year ago, I lived off about 5 hours of sleep a day. Impossible now, kidney disease gives you bouts of the heavy-eye.

Mine varies …. If I’m working next day it’s always about 11pm, if I’m off it may be later… tonight I decided to put a film on quite late. I’m not a very good sleeper usually, 5 or 6 hours at most, but recently on new medication and I’m constantly tired , yesterday I went to bed at 11.30pm and woke up at 9.45am this morning… that’s very unusual for me.

Retired now so when I want. Get up when I want too. I never set an alarm unless really necessary
Retired over 3 years and in a routine of bed about 9.30, read until eyes start closing then awake 4.30- 5 when I get up.

I feed the dog and read for a few hours before bringing Mrs BR her breakfast in bed, or just tea if she's working.

Never felt better - my late Dad always quoted the maxim 'an hour before midnight is worth two after' - he lived to 88 and my Mam to almost 94.

Do you ever walk the dog at that time when you get up? Would seem a nice quiet time to go for a stroll

Now the mornings are getting bright earlier I will. Mrs BR and I usually bring the dog for a walk later in the day in a wood nearby. Really peaceful and rarely meet anyone or any other dogs.

Have you a faithful mutt John Joe? We have always had more than one over the past 34 years, for some time 4, then 3, but one loveable mutt passed in her sleep two years ago aged 14, and we had to have a lovely 11 year GSD put together sleep last week - liver tumor.

Just Heidi now, a 2 1/2 yr old GSD. However, in time I plan to ease Golden Retriever and another GSD into our pack.

Mrs BR keeps saying she doesn't want any more dogs but I'll get around that 😉

Prior to covid it was usually after 1am as I tended to watch a bit of TV after coming home from the pub, then up again at 6.30am for work. My local didn't reopen after lockdown, and I retired during first lockdown so habits changed. Now bed usually between 11pm & 11.30pm and up at 7am - would probably be there longer but my cat will not tolerate a late breakfast 😺
