My first son is called Colby Dixie Smith. Colby = my maternal grandmother's maiden name, Dixie = no explanation needed.

My second son is called Finley. After a cartoon fire engine.

A teacher I used to work with used to plat a game. At the start of each year, without looking at past performance orvanybother data he would assign a (secret) predicted grade to his kids based on their first names.
The Dwaynes, Biancas and Chardonnays never got good grades, the Toms, Harriets and Edwards faired better.

He was uncannily accurate in the predictions when the test results came in.

Maybe because it became a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Scotland has a tradition of surnames first. Names like Renton, Rankin and Wilson.
I recall Partick Thistle had a chairman named Brown McMaster.

Can't remember if I've mentioned this one before or not....

Mrs Tree had a taster day child in a couple years ago, and the child's sibling went into a colleague's class on the same day.

Their names?

"Winner" and "Hero".

So glad I got out of the teaching game. Afterv 30 years my patience with parents who were desperate to make a statement about how different they were, at their kids' expense, (especially by misspelling names) was well and truly spent.
