When do you think you'll be able to retire from paid work?

Not sure if anyone mentioned if you don't have the years in on your state pension, you can top it up
it's not cheap though
I thought I would be oweing so much as I not earnt enough to pay any NI for 33 years but when I did a pension forecast as long as as I paid 85 pounds before 2066 I can get full pension. Women get the upper hand as we mainly claim the Child benefit and when you claiming they contribute to your stamp

I’ve got about 16/17 years worth of basic workplace pension payments scattered across 3 different accounts so far. I really need to get it all in some sort of order at some point.

I’m 40 now so I’ve considered increasing my payments at some point within the next 10 years, but in all honesty, I’m fully expecting the apocalypse to happen sometime before I retire. 🧟‍♂️
Maybe use something like PensionBee to bring them all together so it's easier to manage?

Retired at 63, thankfully have good pension plans. I paid in since I was 21.

mortgage paid off years ago, just me and the missus at home now. State pension starts next year, at 66, so I’m quite well off and not threatened by food or heat deprivation.

can be a bit boring, but so much less stressful than work!
Did I write this?
This is me almost word for word

The wife or retirement?

I'll be similar, paid into a decent pension since I was 22, I'm 54 now and looking to finish at 60, maybe give or take a year or two.

Retired at 56. I was lucky enough to work 39 years at a single company that had a good pension scheme. I always paid the max in and in my last10 years all bonuses won’t in there.

As my financial advisor says “blessed are those that understand compound interest”

I don't want to work past 60 depending on kids education. There is a high chance I'll be having a career change in 2025, but if I stay in my current role my contract ends 2030 and I could retire then, but if I get a job it means my wife could retire when she hits 60 too.
