I'm 47 and we won't win a top level trophy again in my lifetime. Fluke a cup? There's a slim possibility.

There's a significantly higher chance of winning the championship than the premier league.

Our best chance of trophies would be if the top 6 left for a full time European/World league.

Unless we get relagated and then with the championship .. we won’t win anything again in my life time .

I’m 43
Unfortunately this is the correct answer. The only chance we have at a trophy win is we were to get relegated to a lower league.
We can't compete in the premier league due to two factors.
1. Our own incompetence
2. The league is set up to favor certain teams, and we missed the boat to be one of the chosen.

If we play our cards right we can piss the Champ next season. So I voted 20s.... I think we'll surely win something else in my lifetime by sheer law of averages.

Assuming it all stays the same, Everton don't go bust in around 18 months time and I last another 60 years - despite all the huge footy stress, constant work, no exercise and microwave bachelor slop - that's at least 180 theoretical chances to win a trophy (league, FAC or LC).

If the scab 6 bugger off from the lot, I fancy us at least once.

i’d rather not get relegated thanx
Me too. Just saying that we are never going to win the prem in my lifetime unless there is a break away league and we get left behind in “ the prem”

The only time we will win a league again is if we get relagated first.

And I don’t want to be relagated

Law of averages? Tell that to Newcastle fans there are teams that have gone 50 plus years without winning anything

Unless we start taking the domestic cups, the Carabao and the FA, seriously…never. We will never win the league, ( unless we get a multi billionaire, who is also a true blue Toffee, which is a longer shot than us winning anything), so treat it like we do the cups. Do just enough to stay up and concentrate on the cups .

I fully understand that the above will never happen, so “when will we win anything?” …never.

Although, the way things are going, we might have a shot at winning the Championship in a few years. If we’re lucky.

A lot of the time we've never taken the league cup seriously. We've suffered a lot of defeats to teams we should be beating in that competition.

How else can you explain clubs smaller than us winning it, while we've never won it and haven't reached the final in 40 years?

30 years ago we were a club that was expected to win trophies, one of the elite .
That reputation , that historical position created over more than a century,!has been squandered and been diminished.
We have become a nothing club , remarkable only for our distant history and our amazingly loyal and relatively (for our habitual position) large numbers of supporters.
A decaying facade of former greatness behind which lays a second rate club.
The club I supported in the 60s has ceased to exist.
The Everton of 40 years ago has little relation to the club that uses the name today .
One was a giant the other is a pygmy.

The phrase Nil Satis Nisi Optimum should've been dropped from our logo, when Kenwright took over as chairman.

With the exception of 1995, the last almost 40 years have been an insult to that motto.
