Where do we go from here?

If, as you outline, we gain about half the points needed to stay up at the mid-point of the league season then that's not "relagation pace" either - it's survival.
That is if we win the next 2. A draw and a win might still be short of the safe target at mid point. Maybe we term it differently, but the bottomline is we need points every game in order to avoid slipping down the zone and we're one match away from that. We must not and cannot afford to have another slump

I'm not complacent about our position, but let's not paint things blacker than they are. We're out of the relegation positions now & recent performances, if not always the results, give hope that Moyes has the players working as a team once more. I think we can be more then hopeful - quietly confident, perhaps, that Moyes' team will be climbing the table rather than sliding down it.

What's all this talk of an official 'relegation pace'?

If you're in the bottom 3, it's relegation pace.

If you're not, it isn't.

Spot on - we have been too easy to get through this year, such a contrast to recent seasons. Our defence has looked bad partly because of individual mistakes but a lot of it comes down to the midfield not chipping in enough defensively and not defending as a team. Our defence looks worse because it's exposed so much (albeit we are obviously missing Jags).

Jags and Lescott IMO, the number of goals we have shipped is awfull but your right its the number of chances that teams are making against us to.

In our defence its on very rare occasions we havebeen able to field a consistnt back four! But 12 league games is an awfull stat.
