Where does Jack fit in?

The only, and I mean only thing that worries me about our new superhero is a lack of instant turn of pace. But he'll get over that with his vision and awareness with more games under his belt. Sorry to p1ss on your chips guys!

I just hope we remain healthy enough this season where we will have to think of all the possible lineups we can use this season.

It's a squad game these days, you need more than 11 great players to be successful.
Jack right now will be a quality impact player and a quality player to bring in when needed throughout the season.
He won't be a first choice just yet but he'll be the main man very soon, just needs to pay his dues like all young players should.

Spot on......

Not sure I agree with that, given his height and build he's never going to be a whippet over the first few yards, but he's a very powerful runner, he's probably one of our quickest players once he stretches his legs, similar to a Gerrard or Essien in that respect. The Manchester Utd goal and his involvement in Arteta's goal against City are examples of this.

As for his role in the team, I'd like to see him playing in Cahill's position at present, breaking from midfield and supporting Saha or Yakubu.

In an ideal world, no 20 year old should be starting more than half of our league/cup games anyway - if they are, it means the rest of the squad isn't strong enough. It's more a question of how many games will any of our players get. If we assume we're going to play a 4-5-1 formation, then for 38 league games there are 190 midfield starting places up for grabs. How do you see these being allocated if everyone was fit?

I would go for:

Arteta: 32
Fellaini: 30
Pienaar: 30
Cahill: 28
Neville: 18 (will add to this from RB too)
Billy: 18
Osman 18
Rodwell: 16

Rodwell's time will come, but at the moment, he is still plying his trade and he should ideally be coming on from the bench at least as many times as he starts.

What about Anichebe and Gueye? They've looked promising on the wings, Anichebe moreso than Bilyaletdinov, although it pains me to say it. And if Pienaar and Arteta leave then...yeah...bad times.

Anichebe is not good enough to command a regular starting place, for me, and we know Moyes likes to start new signings off slowly from the bench for at least the first 3rd of the season. I may be wrong about Vic - we'll have to see how he goes when he's given a chance, but for me we have enough quality in midfield now that it's going to take something or someone special to break into the starting XI, which is precisely what we want from our squad. OF course, Vic and others will also get their chance as injuries and cup runs come into play.

That was my point

I am more worried for Billy and anichebe to be honest with ya. Rodwell will get his play time since he was ace in the friendlies. Those two might not be on the bench.

I really feel sorry for Billy.

Possibly 40/50k a week? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I think Anichebe should be a fixture on the right this season, he's added intelligence and a good final ball to his pace and power and he's been linking up well with whoever's been playing behind him at right-back
