they struggled when dean smith was there to , i’m sure it was under him they stayed up last game of the season , i moan more than anyone over the state of the squad but there’s no way villa are light years ahead of us , a repeat of last season then ok but right now no chance

I think we will finish top half and somewhere between 8th and 10th. We could get lucky and Spurs sell Kane, Brighton have a bad season and Newcastle stop punching above their weight and that could possibly push us up to 7th and if we remember to unplug the goal like technology machine again like against the Blades we could maybe get 6th. If i was to make a bet on where we will finish it would be 8th

so cos you’ve had one good season yous think yous can push for 6 th but if we sign a few players we,ll still struggle to finish 12th behave mate

But we didn't just have one good season. Since we got new owners we have moved from midtable Championship to top half PL. The progression is clear each year. Yes, we will have good years and bad years but the overall trend is in one direction

Promotion to the PL, survival in the PL and then 12th int the PL. Then we struggled and he was sacked and we got that elite manage in who has now lost his first 4 games out in Saudi

I really think the key is the start of the season. Simply have to be ready for it back to front as there are wins at home to Fulham and Wolves for the taking and that will settle everyone down. Hopefully a win at Sheffield United aswell and some gritty draws and that should be enough to suggest upper mid table.

You are optimistic aren't you? We'll still have the same idiots in charge at the top and even when we did well for the first few games under him who shan't be named, we still only just avoided relegation. Dyche isn't going to change much. I expect the players to be more determined but that probably means more fouls against us.

Wolves - looks like they are doing a Southampton. Had some good players. One or two cherry picked (Jota / Neves) and now having to refresh things while FFS makes it more difficult. A lot of clubs having similar issues though.

You're only in the Prem because a good goal was disallowed 2/3 years ago when technology failed. Away lad.

I didn't say we can push for 6th. It would be a hugely lucky outcome but not impossible. It would need Toon, Brighton, Spurs and Chelsea have bad seasons and that is very unlikely. I said I think we will finish 8th/9th

Dean smith has been relegated now twice.
Im not sure what two squads you're looking at. But it isnt so much im looking at them thinking they are brilliant, they are decent. Its more Everton. I think we're one of the worst. We were very very lucky to stay up.

mate under gerrard yous where heading the same way as us under lampard if it was such good progression yous wouldn’t have sacked him so let’s not rewrite history
