So name a lodged bid that seemed fair to you which has been in the media?
As far as i can see there werent any. Happy to be proven wrong.
Zat the media doesn't know every bid the club make and they would have printed stuff that was totally unaccurate that we were never in for. You seem to also be distinguishing between verbal and official bids in your previous post(?). If I go to utd and say I want Elanga and they say no or they say we've spoken to him but he doesn't want to go to you there isn't even a bid lodged. But the target was identified and sounded out.
What you are saying is that Everton decided to look busy trying to mislead everyone into thinking we were going to do something but secretly knew we were not and that is just tin foil hat stuff. Simple answer will come down to the fact the players rejected us or wanted over market value or what was not in those camps was not better than what we have OR one of Dyche, Thelwell, Kenwright or Moshiri thought I don't want him. There would have been far more in first categories than the latter.
Were you around when we bid for Alan Shearer? Or Alan Smith?
If you were then you would know Kenwrights modus operandi.
One of our problems is we have poor scouting and no vision. Rather than looking at cast offs from other Premier league teams such as Dele on high wages, we need to be identifying young talent in other leagues, even outside of Europe. How many promising young lads from North or South America or Asia were we linked in this window? Few, if any. It's a worldwide game, look at the recent World Cup success of national teams such as Japan, South Korea, Morocco and others. There is a lot of talent worldwide, we apparently are just unable to identify good young players from other parts of the world. We have every right to be upset that the club cannot identify and bring in young talent who can contribute on reasonable wages. What you are saying doesn't make sense. Even when we were poor (i.e. no Gordon money) we still managed to get a few loan deals in. There is no way we went into this with a masterplan to come out with zero players. If that was the case the messages would have been from summer we have no cash due to regulations and we'll have to even sell players to balance the books.
Everything coming from the club was the opposite. I'm telling you now everyone who had the choice of two clubs chose the other and the ones that didn't, either turned their noses up at us too or wanted an Everton tax and for once the club stood its ground and wouldn't pay the ridiculous prices.
People can't beat the club with a stick for buying players like Dele for 100k + a week and then the next year say why aren't we getting in anyone - We don't care at what cost.
Interesting rise of wealth today that innit. 42 million dollars.Usmanovs bank
FFP maybe…. But I suspect cash is an issue, I wonder if it has gone straight to the stadium ?You sure? Not saying your wrong, but I understand upfront to mean guaranteed, with the rest depending on performance etc. Wouldn't be good for their FFP to have all $40m in this years accounts
