I have ardent cyclist friends...it's a constant source of amusement that they give me flack for driving and I give them flack for their "share the road (except when it suits them not to)" mantra.

I have a few simple mantras I repeat to my kids; one of them is "cars are dangerous and drivers can't be trusted." Riding a bicycle for pleasure has done nothing to change my mind on this.

Absolutely. And where I live there are even idiots in large trucks that heckle/steer-into road cyclists. Such a-holes.

My geriatric neighbours have a really well kept garden, and they never say boo about my obnoxious, noisy kids, my stupid dog, or me smoking weed (their son does it too) although I've practically given it up the last 12 months.

We swap gardening tips and they're just like " we've been there, don't worry about it". They're chill af.
