I look at England as the people , not the monarchy . Just the same way as I look at Everton as the heart and soul being the fans , not the board , and not even the players to some extent , as players come and go .
I can understand people finding it difficult to relate to players they would normally want to see fail , and cheering them on , but we need to separate the 2 issues when it comes to domestic and national football .
At the end of the day , it's just a game , but history shows us that it is also a huge part of peoples lives world wide , and has actually played it's part in bringing the world closer .
You only have to look at the world war , where both sets of soldiers put their guns down , and played football .
