I seem to recall a survey done a few years back, which said Jagielka was the fastest Everton (PL?) player. He clocked in excess of 32 KMPH I believe. Will try to scrounge up the link if I can find it.

Though, Godfrey does seem to be gifted with pace.

Edit: This is what I found in an old article

"The defender hit a top speed of 35.99 kilometres per hour - or 22.36 miles per hour - against Leicester on the opening day of the season (2014-15)."

The only time he’s been over 20mph is in his Ford Mondeo

It's got to be either Kevin Ratcliffe or Gary Lineker during my time as a fan. I said years ago I'd love to have seen them have a 50 metre sprint against each other when they were team mates here. Lineker absolutely skinned Alan Hansen for his goal in the FA Cup final and Hansen was no slouch himself, and had a head start on him.

Andrei Kanchelskis would certainly run either them close though. Stuart Barlow was certainly rapid and Ben Godfrey is too.
“ Hanson was no slouch”? He wasn’t very fast that’s for sure, except in his head, like Peter Reid he was three or four yards ahead of everyone else in his football brain and that is why he and Hanson were so very good.

Gary Stevens, Ratcliffe, Theo, Lennon, Godfrey, Lineker, Kanchleskis, Cadamarteri, spring to mind.....

Over 10 yards it's Lennon. Over 100m Godfrey.

I always liked Lennon playing for us. His end product wasn’t great but he would lock down that right hand flank defensively. I reckon Carlo would love a prime Aaron Lennon in this team.

They’re both as tragically predestrian as each other but the difference is Gylfi doesn’t even have the cause of having his ankle reattached.
This is what concerns me about the links with Rabiot though, i mean he actually would make Gylfi/Gomes look like racehorses, everything is at walking pace with him and he has such a lethargic way about him, having seen the abuse the other two get there is no way the fans will put up with him imo.
