yeah they do put connect the box to you pc and update they give you a web site with box that tells you where to get your codes i have a chipped virgin + box for about 6 months now and it's never gone off

Like me, Ichigo. I was originally free-online which is owned by plus.net. Now it has all been merged into the one company. I would recommend it, although please don't get annoyed if you switch and it all goes tits up. :D
 
With AOL. Wanted to leave and even got the MAC code but someone rang me up and told me they would let me have the free laptop offer (available to new customers only) if I stayed. I agreed to it. Took ages for the laptop to arrive.

Then the AOL software would not go onto laptop. Rang AOL to get help, was told it was a software compatability issue which I thought was really funny! He told me he couldnt help and I had to ring carphone warehouse, they said to ring HP, and they told me to ring AOL.

Finally got some sense out of AOL and was told to buy Vista Home Premium and it would work! Didnt buy it of course but did get a copy and it has worked! I find it really funny that the free laptop they supply has an issue with their software.

Just wondering how long into the contract you have to be before you can keep the laptop if you leave if anyone knows? Will only stay with AOL now if they give me a free house minimum.

Other than that Ive had no problem with them!!!!

You could have got the laptop simply by agreeing a two year contract. Anyway, you are tied in for two years now, at least if you want to keep the computer. If not, I imagine there is penalty that you'll pay, as well as giving up the laptop. But, I do remember being with AOL back in the 90s and they are excellent for things like chat and message boards.

Let's imagine that i'm getting one of these installed tonight ( about 6.30 to be precise ), and where would i go if i needed to update the code ? Because i've heard that they (virgin ) are changing it randomly.
 
i depends what card you got in mate and they don't update them that often mate mine has gone off twice in 8 months
