Who should replace Frank Lampard?

Martinez will be in charge before January is out.
I think there is indeed a good chance as I don't see really how lampard improve things not that martinez would do better but perhaps we need a mentality change. Not sure we will be able to beat wolves next time round followed up by a city that needs points...if we end up losing our next 2 league games there is no chance that lampard will be in charge come the January transfer window.

I went for “other”.

And I have that fellow at Celtic in mind.
Unheard of before he went to Glasgow.
Gets them ticking, all of sudden half of Australia bragging how good he was before the 17 hour flight.
There's pressure at that club, but it's a different one at our club.
I'm not sure he's the man.
It's a chance, I feel we can't take.
Although I'd take him before Martinez.

Martinez, theres people talkin Martinez... this is golden, almost worth the pain and suffering thats got us here...

Lampard is stuck, to much Jose (Mourinho) not enough charisma, locking a game down and winning with a penalty or a Drogba special aint on the cards here. Not got any invention, and isnt turning up any inspired signings. I think his card is marked, and if he hadnt been such a prolific player he'd have never got the job in the first place - this only ends badly. It comes to something when the Townsend injury appears pivotal.

(Martinez... ha ha ha, gluttony!)

I imagine it’s mainly down to the fact we were actively interested in him after Benitez was sacked. Makes zero sense to me to go back to him after he was hounded out in the past. You know what you’re going to get with him and it tends to drive our fanbase insane lol

I suppose he does have experience in relegation battles though….. argh I’m doing it myself!

I may sound old school . I dont want to end up like tottenham with conte , where you take a very good/world class coach who demands world class signings . I would prefer a young manager build up a team with young players ( we need to give time to our new manager ) . someone like Potter wud have been ideal . the Brentford manager looks good . but no more pochettino's or similar crap for me

We're not getting Frank for the same reason Potter was never coming, these guys know there in good places and bigger clubs will eventually take them.

But yeah, another young manager to build a project would be good

So fans can't vent their frustration after two 12 hour round trips once of which saw us making 11 changes and getting hammered twice.
What should they do. Smile and clap.

Nah. We should deffo change manager. Why change a tried and trusted formula, eh? Who should we get next lads? Pep? Klopp? Hell, why not dream big and go for both…

Yes, why, the next manager is going to make things beautiful and everything will be ok.

How many times have the fans called for a change in manager in the last 10 years? How many managers have we had?

I watched Liverpool stick 5 past Everton on 1982. We should deffo have sacked Kendall then. Definitely.

Feel free to tell me what happens next, if we sack Lampard. Please tell me you’ve all worked it all out…

Or you could all actually learn. Just an idea lads.

I accept that survival is the only target worth talking about right now, but I honestly think this is quite a small time attitude tbh mate, one which is endemic throughout our club.

We don’t want assertive winners like Conte, Klopp, or Pochetino. Nope, we want a young friendly manager that will take time, a very LONG time, in taking us absolutely nowhere at all.

Even Villa have gone and got Emery after giving Gerrard the boot, and Gerrard had a better record than Lampard.

Brighton and Brentford gave those managers time. Brighton were poor for ages under Potter until it came good. Some Everton fans now have no patience. They wouldn’t have backed Kendall, they wouldn’t have had Moyes after his second season, they wouldn’t have had Sir Alex at United. It’s just instant gratification or change everything now.

You’re acting like sticking with a failing manager is a proven strategy for success.

It’s not.

Maybe we should have kept Mike Walker?

Maybe we should have kept Benitez?

The only manager that didn’t deserve the sack was Sam Allardyce. Every other one of them needed sacking.

Genuine question, were any of those managers performing as badly as Rafael Benitez or Frank Lampard?

Were their teams in danger of relegation?

Were they struggling to manage a single shot on target?

Should we have kept Mike Walker?
