Who should replace Frank Lampard?

No I agree with your basic point, I just mean I don't really think a manager coming from overseas would automatically find it more difficult than someone who's worked in England before. In some ways someone coming in without preconceived notions of the club etc might actually help. As I said, other clubs have been in relegation trouble before and brought in managers from overseas, it isn't necessarily lunacy. The key is to find someone who is good at their job and suited to the task at hand, I just don't see that previous PL experience is massively important.

I think as you say, its helpful, but it's one ssmall factor that we (as a board not necessarily a fanbase) have elevated to ludicrous levels.

I mean not getting Galtier over Benitez is one of many mistakes.

For the most part, football is not about passion, or getting the club etc, it's about tactical competency and understanding.

Exactly. A genuinely good manager should be able to come in and start coaching and motivating the players and developing tactics to win games. I don't see why having managed Crystal Palace for 12 months would make you more likely to be able to do that than having experience of managing Real Betis, Wolfsburg, Sampdoria etc.
