Mike Walker was worse by a long way. Only saving grace it was a very short tenure.

Smith for me, playing defenders on the wing and at centre forward, dour and scrapped the youth team. I think we lost Baines and Joey Barton as a result.

Smith actually played Gravesen at centre back, Steve Watson at centre forward, Nyarko at centre back, not all in the same game of course !!

He went back to Norwich City, if I recall correctly. Don't know what happened to him after that.

Terrible manager for us, but it might have been different had he concentrated on doing his job and actually getting us somewhere, rather than swanning around like billy boots thinking he was the big 'I am'. The guy hadn't actually done anything but yet thought he had landed, and was one of the big boys in the game.

I bealieve he was managing a skip company last i heard. Which is more about his level. He was a total idiot who almost destroyed this club.

I don't remember Mike Walker too well but I do remember Walter Smith playing what seemed like a full team of defenders at one stage - including Steve Watson up front! Not amazing days!
