I really think the keeper will have an impact on whether Stones stays.

If we sign someone average from Burnley or wherever else then it doesnt inspire confidence that were aiming for the champions league.

We go and get a top keeper with amazing potential and it could well show him and others we mean business.

Most important position in the team bar none. Just look at what Cech is doing at Arsenal, their fans credit him for keeping them in the champions league and for a few recent ground out wins. This just builds confidence and the team keeps on a roll. A poor keeper, as we have seen with Howard can unnerve even the best defence. Martyn in 04/05 is another prime example. Gave the entire side confidence and the roll kept going. That is why it is so annoying this wasn't sorted in the summer. Teams with top keepers like United are scraping along whilst we carry terrible Tim. If get this appointment right it could be more of a game changer for us than any outfield signing.

Well the ones I know do and seeing as I watched at least half of their fixtures on TV I can confirm it as well.

The problem is some people are so clueless about football gaffer I would'nt trust their judgement, like yourself of course.
