Personally I think Joel should be given a run before we splash the cash, he's earned it and if he turns out to be good enough then the money can be spent on other positions.

He's auditioning for the role in the League Cup.

He's had two great auditions already though, and his rival for the part has not been too convincing in his role.

Does Bill oversee the auditions seeing as acting is his trade?

I think it would create a problem for the manager to drop Tim Howard at this time.
Robles is by no means the finished article and just might be good enough(although I personally believe he is).
Howard may react badly to being left out, as he probably is in the last six months of his Everton career anyway.

What would be interesting now however is if Tim Howard were to get injured again for a few weeks as he did last season.
I wonder if he would come straight back into the team now ?
