Who's left from the coaching team ?

Didn't notice if Ferguson was in the dug out on Sunday? It was someone else warming the subs at half time though.
I asked Dunc after the game if he would be here next season. A straight " it depends on the new coach " was the reply.

I love Dunc, but I struggle to see exactly how he has managed to survive the cull when every other member of Martinez's first team coaching set-up got the boot.

I'd be really interested to know why he wasn't tarred with the same brush
Dead right , dunc should have walked as well . Fresh start ahead .

Wonder why Unsworth and even Royle were given the management duties over Feeguson who was already a first team coach? I guess Unsworth is used to actually managing a side (albeit the under 21s) but felt like a slap down the pecking order for Ferguson who has worked with the senior players all season.

I feel he won't be wanted by the new regime, whoever that may be and might go elsewhere anyway as a coach, or perhaps a doorman for the players lounge.

Thing is, the pecking order doesn't really work like that. At nearly every club the Under 21s manager will be considered more important/held in higher esteem than a first team coach who seems about fourth down in that particular pecking order.

All Ferguson has done since becoming part of the first team coaching set-up was drop cones on the grass for the players to run around and collect the balls up at the end. He has had no input in the dressing room or ever been part of the manager's inner circle. He's just kept his head down and done whatever Martinez wanted of him, probably because he was worried about being given the boot if tried to interject. I would like to the see new manager retain him (and Unsworth) and give him a bigger role, let them help plan the tactics for games and take whatever advice or opinions they might have to offer seriously instead of just sitting there pointlessly waving at supporters. If the new guy wants to bring his own team with him and replace everyone who's been left over then fair enough, it will be his right to do that and we should give him and whomever he brings in the benefit of the doubt, least to start with.

Overall I'm extremely glad that gang of wasters Jones, Lawrence and Bergera have been chucked out as well, all have been robbing a living as far as I'm concerned. If we as supporters could tell they were all absolutely useless then imagine what the players must have felt having to work with them everyday. Taking instructions from a bunch of blokes who never played as high as the Championship in their own careers as well as the fact that the previous team that they coached ended up getting relegated. How uninspiring must that be? Not saying all coaches need to have previously been boss players but they at least have some sort string to your bow. I saw absolutely nothing from any of them to suggest they were qualified to instruct Premier League footballers how to win matches.

One thing I'd love from our next manager is him to have a useful assistant manager.

Both Jones and Round before him seemed to be (albeit from my speculative vantage point) complete yes men.
Round literally began to look like Moyes. It was uncanny

I think Dunc was there coz he needed a job - alleged/rumoured, pear shaped investments.

Dunc was finishing his pro licence, part of the stipulations include being in a coaching set up at a club while undergoing the final level. Finished now so he can go off and coach on his own or go as a No: 2 somewhere.
