I'm unsure about Duncans ability to keep us up, but I think his passionate approach would reap a short term gain, which may make the difference. The thing I am sure about is Paelladyce needs to go now. If Mr Rooney somehow pulls off the great escape at Derby, I'd be behind his appointment in the summer, but not now.

We're in a death spiral now. Stick with Benitez and, well, you saw today. Sack Benitez and install a "blue" or Lampard and I'd be surprised if we stay up.

The Everton job is a horrible one. The manager has to destroy the culture of abject, sentimental and self-aggrandising mediocrity whilst simultaneously asking those who are about to be eliminated to get on board with the plan.
