Big Dunc has stay through to many failed regimes. He is now a very large part of the problem. He should go too.

Wayne Rooney.. never thought I'd say that, give him 18 month contract.

Have you see what he’s doing to Roma and their players at the moment

I almost want him to torture our players. I want him to come in and utterly humiliate Keane and Coleman in every press conference. I want him to take a complete wrecking ball to this pathetic squad of losers. When they’re all having their little party after they’ve seen Benitez off they just get crushed by the news that Mourinho’s coming in and their holiday camp is not allowed to start up again.

I am comforted by the idea that Dunc is on the bench if they do fire Benitez in simply having an interim thats hypothetically capable and would be widely accepted. My biggest fear is an in season permanent appointment. We have a lot more things to sort out before that kind of commitment should be in place.

Before any names are seriously thrown out the club the club HAS to appoint a competent DoF. Obviously under Benitez maybe that power has been consolidated, but his removal would have to warrant a vetting of directors. Then the manager can come in focus. More worth our time might be looking for possible DoF's
I'd rather Davek than Duncan

Part of the management team for our past SIX managers.

Get in the bin.

We could turn it around but it needs the change now
A change for the sake of change will make it worse. In my view, Benitez has failed the minimum test: gut the club but keep us safe while doing it. You can't lose to the likes of Norwich and go on the run we have without bringing your personal mission into disrepute. I thought he could keep us safe at least while changing remorselessly from within. But these players - these useless players who have seen off multiple managers - will be the death of him and probably us. Frank Lampard has done nothing in football to justify the Everton job. Duncan and Wayne are our versions of Newcastle's Alan Shearer appointment: sentimental but misguided follies. Any serious candidate for the job will need time to bed in - and we don't really have that. So, our options are pretty grim. Moshiri might get stubborn and stick with Benitez, who really does not look like getting the results he needs in the short term. Maybe he would, eventually, but that looks a gamble at this point. Or he could panic, make a change out of desperation and plunge us into farce with Rooney or Ferguson. His history of scouting prospective replacements is telling: he doesn't have a plan B as his Marco Silva pursuit showed.

So, while a change looks necessary to me, ANY change won't do. It needs to be one that works. I fear we might finally have used our nine lives.

If Mourinho fails then there comes a point when you have to really ask wtf is going on.

Alright some of these managers might be defensive minded or cautious, but there’s just absolutely no way that all of Koeman Allardyce Silva Ancelotti Benitez Mourinho could fail so abysmally with this team.

Mourinho is a world class manager and I doubt there’ll be many of them interested in us.

Mourinho 'was' a world class manager mate.

His career has been on a massive downward spiral for his last 3-4 jobs.

Managers who rely on his method once they no longer have the authority that comes with being at the very top often struggle and never get it back -.clough and benetez to name two

Ffs mourinho is not the answer, why do we have to try and bring the biggest name we can in. That hasn’t worked, potter or another young progressive manager

I'm willing to give it a go. I've recently led Napoli to a Coppa Italia (side note, Joao Virginia is my back up goalkeeper in 2026/27) and a top four finish after they've spent years in midtable on football manager. I can't guarnatee results or even improvement however I can guarantee the following;

- Rondon won't be played upfront*
- Andre Gomes wont see a football pitch again
- Michael Keane would only be brought on when trying to see out a win with a back 13.
- Alex Iwobi would be shipped off in a container from Dover and sold to the highest bidder from the Singaporean league.

*I may play him in goal for a laugh.

Our easy games are half over and the rest of the easy ones are coming thick and fast. The last three months of the seasons are not against the lower teams.

We need to give the new / interim manager a chance and not appoint him now before it is too late.

This is the sad reality.

A new man gives us a fighting chance.
