We currently have no manager - the right manager is likely not available - if Martinez is available until the summer to caretake you can see the logic.

Otherwise we have to give whoever is available a 3 year contract, transfer kitty and compensation again.

Imagine Michael Keane doing his best John Stones impression?

We do not have the players he would need to play how he plays and his card would be marked already by most fans.

I have a lot of time for Martinez, will always be thankful for him bringing Kendall back into the fold before he died but if he returns I would be bombing over to Monaco with my bedsheets and a tin of paint in no time.
