Thanks to Benitez this is a question of survival at the moment. Would appointing a manager with no experience of the PL, especially given we are in a potential relegation dog fight, be a good idea? Not sure. That would leave the usual suspects and I am not that keen on them either. Navigating to safety is the priority, but how we get there and who would be at the helm is possibly one of the most important decisions this club has had to make in many seasons. Hope they get it right but I doubt it

Probably nonsense. Gattuso and Fonseca have been linked with every PL job going this season.

Lampard did an incredible job at Chelsea. They had sold their prize asset and we’re given a transfer ban. Most people wrote Lampard of that season and said he wouldn’t achieve anything, yet he still got them Champions league football using a lot of young players.

I am open to him as @ToffeeTim as put in a good case for him but what worries me is he is London based. Would he be staying in a hotel, rent somewhere? I don’t see his wife moving up here. If he isn’t going to be happy personally then I don’t see the point.

It’s ridiculous the obsession with premier league experience, especially our board. Guardiola, Pep and Tuchel are the best 3 coaches in the league by a country mile, none of which had managed in the prem before. If you’re a good manager it will translate anywhere, people act like we play a completely different sport over here

They did take over clubs in reasonable or very good health. Everton are on their knees. Bit of a difference

I don’t understand the Ferguson shouts. He's been here for yonks and doesn’t seem to have any influence on these players.

His brief spell as interim manager says otherwise. It was well reported that Benitez didn't want Ferguson there, he wanted his own staff in charge so unsure how much influence he would be given under his tenure.
