Re the Tuchel shouts

We had a world class manager. In fact we had one of the greatest managers of all time in charge. Even then though, by the end of the season, a large number of fans on here were calling for a different type of manager rather than going through the required pain of a multi year turnaround job.

There is no silver bullet. The new manager has to come in, keep us up, and then start again on changing everything at the club, and btw there might be some pain whilst he does it, we can’t just call for his head the moment this happens though.

I almost want us to get the biggest hipster progressive young manager we can find so that when he has the same problems there’s literally not a corner of the managerial market we can go to whilst we avoid the real problems at the club (I mean we have tried this already with Silva but people seem to have forgotten this. If he hadn’t have been manager already he’d be 100% getting touted on here as the type of coach we should be going for)

Dutch disciplinarian (433) - failed
Progressive young continental manager (433) - failed
Traditional English manager (4141) - failed as fans couldn’t abide his football
World class Italian pragmatist (433/532) - average return but fans didn’t like the football
Regimented tactical experienced manager (4231) - failed
Numerous interim Everton ex players - failed

Fans ‘let’s get a coach that plays 433 progressive attacking football, the players just need some coaching and set piece work’

When will the penny finally drop for some of you lot?
Silva didn’t play 433 he played 4231 same as Koenannand Allerdyce

Yeah but he knew he was done before the season even ended, just look at his socks here, he was taking abuse so took the piss back, but he never should of got any abuse in the first place, regardless I dont think we would of gone down without him but we did get better under him, post Moyes he has been the only one who didnt take us backwards.

I've had a tenner at 100/1 on him for when the inevitable happens. It will soften the blow.

Now is not the time to be taking that risk

Every manager would be a risk at the moment.

Cooper may be a brilliant manager but would the players think theyre above him -- theres that feeling from alot of them.

Lampard/Rooney may bring the respect from the players to get us a few wins.

A foreign manager could be a coin toss

Ferguson could turn things around with some time on the coaching before the next game.

Very very hard decision and one i think will not be widely accepted.

We played 4-4-2 and ge talked about the players 'being in no uncertain terms about what it means to play for Everton'..

He bought the fans a drink, he was wearing an Everton wrist band. He was pumping the crowd up and urging the players on.

Basic tactics (nothing more basic than 4-4-2) and trying to inspire.

Pretty simple Dave. Doesn't mean it was effective.
lol lol lol

Listen to yourself.

We really need Duncan to get us safe as soon as possible - not only to keep us up, but to allow the club more options in picking the new manager. Mancini could be available in March, for example, if Italy are beaten by Portugal in the World Cup. His stock would be surprisingly low if this occurs, but he would be a fantastic choice for us. It's a long shot, of course, but Duncan needs to get points on the board for reasons other than us staying up. The medium term future of the club - not just short term - depends on it.
Dunc doesn’t have a clue mate, he showed that yesterday
We won 1 game in 14 that’s nearly half a season
We. Red someone with experience

Agree with that.

I don't think Rooney is as close as people think though. He's not been interviewed while Lampard is apparently having another one.

Just get them in asap.

Just replying in the 'manager' thread.

I read as well that Lampard is having a second interview while Rooney is having a first interview.

Im not sure what to make of that...other than Lampard must have done well to get a 2nd interview.

Yeah true forget about Todgers sorry! although for him he seems to have a good 2-3 seasons at a club then it starts going downhill (you're starting to see the Leicester slide now). Once Vardy loses that yard of pace I think they'll hit a stumbling block with him.

Kovac/Mourinho in the summer for me with Dunc until the seasons end to steer us to 15th safety.
Lol how? He can’t win with a fired up Goodison how he gonna win? He so tactically inept,

I agree. I would like to see us get Mourinho or Mancini, whichever one we could get soonest - though March is too late for the latter, really. I suspect either would do enough to get us safe. I'm less concerned over Mourinho's volatility. People say he'll smash the place up and upset all and sundry. Frankly, what's not to like about that? We NEED smashing up, calling out, and public apportioning of blame. But it won't happen as long as Kenwright sees mid-table as "good times".

Look at the Monaco squad. How many get into our matchday squad...id say quite a lot.

We dont know, he could be amazing. But he has a record of poor player management.

He may do well initially.

Would you say the same if we had put away one of the 6 or so chances and drawn?

100%

Well worded and well said.

Not sold on Favre. Kovac could be good till end of season but thats it for me.

As above...

Him or Lampard for me.

This post doesnt make sense. If youre using analytics you can only calculate based on what you have.
I'd rather Favre than Kovac short-term.

Favre's work at Gladbach and Nice especially would suggest he would be really what we needed.

Also in his first season at Dortmund, he got them their third-ever best points total and only Tuchel had a better winning percentage with them.
