If not Pereira then we need someone in before the end of the week to get players in here.

The board have to appoint someone before or by the weekend - if they dont they could be preparing for the Championship.
They definitely need somebody in but the idea of it being Pereira is extremely worrying.

Read up on what happened at 1860 Munich and who was involved in that deal... They're the only club he's been at where he's joined midway through a season in a similar situation to us.

3m a year he was on there too... at a second-tier German club (albeit a big one). KJ is a cancer.

Yet he's currently managing a top 4 team in La Liga
He has the highest win percentage out of any manager in Real Betis´s history. And Malaga. And Villareal. (Got into the champions league with both, doing it again with Betis). Broke the Real Madrid record points total. He is one of the finest coaches of the last twenty years, regardless of what happened at West Ham.

I still think this;

I voted Duncan Ferguson.

Give him an interim title, see if the players play for him.

Allow a DOF to come in and make a call on it in the summer.

To be honest, I think it's absolutely ridiculous they didn't name Ferguson as the replacement within the hour of announcing Benitez' departure.

It's not like we're spoilt for choice.

However, I do wonder if perhaps Ferguson isn't as keen on the job as we'd think. His comments, again, about Everton wanting the best managers in the game, and perhaps lacking in his own confidence perhaps does rule him out. If he doesn't think he's got what it takes, then the board and players won't.

Out of every name linked so far, and assuming an issue with Ferguson - my own preference would be Lampard.

/legs it.

I've come around to having Lampard.

I was hoping for Ferguson, but he seemed to repeat the same issues with our midfield two getting overrun and zero build up play. I know he only had a week with them, but it would be nice for us to try to control a game of football.

Lampard prefers a 433 which I think could suit our players, he'll be motivated and still demand work, but I think he could bring it in a calm intelligent way.
