Apparently they’ve begun negotiations “ but agreement some way off” . Everton that. Obviously nobody thought to say “ So Frank , this is your 45 th interview, if you’re offered the job we are looking at a salary of x and a term of y years, what’s your thoughts on that? And who else would you be considering bringing in if offered the job?”
it is the Echo. Rather believe Romano and Ther Bobble lol. Think the thruth is somewhere in the middle that there is an ageeement in principle but working out finer details & backroom staff etc

“An agreement remains some way off” as per Kirkbride. Christ Everton it’ll be Tuesday by the time we sort this out and we’ll have zero time to buy anyone ffs. Was expecting this to be announced by now.

Apart from the press announcing something before the club which has as yet not been confirmed, you're right.
People like Romano and Wallace don't say things are done if they aren't done. If you want to remain sceptical then I have no issue, but there is no evidence yet that this has fallen through. Everton are never quick to announce things.

I’ve got no issue with that at all. Unfortunately it doesn’t necessarily work out in football when people have that attitude. For the record I’m a massive Ferguson fan, I have a woolly hat with his name on from 95. I would have liked him to have been appointed. But if he stays now, he’s proven he didn’t have the minerals in the first place. He needs to move on and come back if he’s been successful.

He loves the club , or more specifically the fans . I think he is happy in life being part of it and he would rather coach here than be the main man somewhere else. He knows that if he’s the manager on a permanent basis that the job is huge , bigger than koeman , bobby, Rafael and Carlo could handle and two of them have managed Real Madrid and won prem and champions league titles . If he takes it on and fails , he will not have a place here and that’s what he wants .

I can understand all that, but he would be a better coach if he learned elsewhere.

You nor I have any idea if he's a decent coach or not. I'd rather not cast aspersions.

In fairness, if Ancelotti asked him to go to Real Madrid with him, that's more of a valid indication that he's a good coach, rather than a bad one.

Agreed, I just think he’s better than that. Probably more sentimental on my part. The club doesn’t need hangers on mind, for whatever reason he hasn’t been assistant to any successful managers so I do think we need a change now even if Ferguson doesn’t want it

I wasn't saying he was a bad or a good coach - what I was saying is that, as with almost any career you can think of, people generally get better at something when they experience different ways of doing it under different circumstances. That might have been what Ancelotti was trying to do.

That’s a decision that will or needs to be made by the higher ups . But from Dunc’s view I believe that he values being part of Everton over anything else football wise
