Were we not in for a keeper in the summer or last January? It all went quiet and Martinez said we weren't looking to strengthen that position. Could be American links pressured us to keep Howard on to up our profile in the states. Probably not but I can't see any reason why he's still number one. Was shocking last season. For me the choice of best keeper is largely irrelevant if the entire current crop of goal keeping resource at the club is unable to move the team forward and up the table.

Ah haha. I can see him now, googling 'Tim Howard best Everton goalkeeper' this thread pops up. A smile creeps across his face 'ah they really do love me' he thinks. He clicks on the link and reads through. Tears start falling down his cherub face. He gets a tissue to dry his eyes but fumbles and sticks the tissue right up his nose then drops it on his sheepskin rug. 'Ah shucks'

Honestly? I think Howard has actually had a pretty decent season so far, generally. He didn't turn up at United, but he wasn't alone in that regard. We've been pretty solid defensively, even with the injuries we've had to our defence, and Howard has to take at least partial credit. I do think we need a new keeper in the long run, but piling on him after every game that we lose is a bit chumpy.
It's just like those Martinez Out threads mate.
