If they were that bad the FCA wouldn't have approved them Mike. A lot of difference between suspicion and evidence, as soon as their creditors started coming out then the gig was up.

If the PL had have waved them through in October I honestly believe that would have saved them (in the short term), as they would have had the massive assest to borrow against to pay off the ones that were secured with false assests or already had loans for. Of course that doesn't mean we would have been okay, they would have probably tried leveraging again until it popped and we became collateral damage.

Don’t agree mate. Staff at Standard Liege were not getting paid. They washed their hands of VDG and left them in a perilous state too. They would’ve finished this football club off, and Moshiri had chosen them because they were offering him the best “deal” on paper. The Premier League saved us, which is one seriously mad twist of fate after everything that’s gone on.

Thankfully we’ll be shut of Moshiri soon before he can do any more damage to us.

Stands to reason.

I any case, being a stable mate to any football club(s) is an abomination.

It's just accepting the commodification of football to such an extent that you're willing to dilute your own precious identity.

I dearly hope this 'deal' with Friedkin falls through.

We can do much better than being an appendage to 'The Friedkin Group'.

I'm staggered that so many Evertonians are that desperate they'd whore themselves out to this bid.
All those vying to purchase Everton football club will have similar priorities if not identical.

The Italians do seem fairly adamant that this is done. I’m sure we will find out soon enough

All those Italian sources though seem to be citing “according to Liverpool reports” so nothing actually from their end. Guess we’ll find out today! That Giulia Bould yesterday wasn’t convinced saying nothing was imminent.

We might not have failed PSR without the Russian sanctions but Moshiri had proven to be totally clueless for years before that he was a terrible owner for a football club he made rash decisions and didn't do anything at all to change the way the club was run we were still the same as under Kenwright only with more money.

We had Ancelotti, Richarlison, Rodriguez, Dean, Digne, Allan, DCL. We had a great foundation to be a great team, just as PSR decided to have some teeth.

We were still a basket case club don't get me wrong but just like Chelsea and City went through an evolution process to start getting good, to get the European money, the sponsorship that comes with that - our wings were clipped.

Question: Is David Prentice still working for Everton and if so why hasn't he been heard of since he started the position? What work is he assumed to have done? Absolutely first on the to-be-sacked list!

He is in the EFC communications team. He's a communications manager managing the press. So is heavily involved in writing or agreeing club press statements etc. He manages the media contacts, it seems. When he was first brought in it seems he was to act as Bill Kenwright's personal spin doctor/spokesperson

The Leicester away game when Lampard was here and the negative response his "article" on evertonfc.com got, quoting Bill Kenwright, shut that idea down

Prentice needs removal by new ownership as well

Imagine James feeding Dixie we'd have been unstoppable

Chong has done his job, which is the stadium.

His interim CEO gig has just seen him left holding the screaming, shitting, puking baby when the true parents (Bullshit and Blondie) and the dodgy uncles (Moshiri and Usmanov) did a runner. He had no choice but to issue bland public utterances whilst desperately bailing a sinking ship. He has never had the authority to throw the runaways under the bus.

Having said all that he isn’t a CEO and should be moved to his natural COO Stadium ASAP by new owners who should put in place better, more experienced leadership at CEO and CFO.

IMO we should be grateful to him for stepping into the breach rather than criticising him for not pulling off the football equivalent of the loaves and fishes whilst going full Derek Hatton condemning everyone down to the tea lady for their role in getting us into this mess.

They're established at a top Serie A club. It'll take some spending to get us competitive in the PL.
Hear what you're saying but, it really doesn't have to be that way.

With proper systems in place such as that arbitrary idea of a scouting network that I've heard exists at other clubs...

You can buy low, sell high, work your way up.

There have been many examples of clubs who have done this.

I condem him. He failed to apologise for 14 January 2023 for starters.

Then claimed they were working to a "plan" financing the stadium.

Does it appear like that was the case to you given the 9 months of 777 Partners we just experienced?

Really?

Allan was one of the worst signings we've ever made he was a fat waste of space with a top speed of 1mph we paid 20 mil for him and let him go on a free transfer 2 years later how can you say him and James were a great foundation they were mercenaries at the end of their career! At a time when every other club was getting younger faster players and managers with long term plans to build identities we went out and did the exact opposite! Moshiri was totally clueless he just wanted big names and whoever his favourite court jester of the time told him to get he was a disaster of an owner.

Very much this. A cursory read of the Leadenhall CP US court filing tells one all we might need to know. The contents of that filing, incidentally, state they identified misrepresentation in Q1 2023. Moshiri was telling us 777 were the perfect partners for Everton as recently as last September so unclear what due diligence he did at that period. Further evidence of his cavalier attitude to risk, oversight, and spending (someone's) money recklessy.
