My gobshite (bestman) has just messaged me from Milan with his son celebrating and taking the pisss(banter I accept it)
Always have and Always will defend Everton but I'm struggling to explain to my nephew who's my gobshhhhites sons mate(both 8 years old) why he should stay an Evertonian and n 0ot go to the dark side....which I really think he's considering.....

Anyone can latch into a successful team and then say look at me I'm better than you because my team is better than yours, but it takes someone with an IQ of over 10 to realise that it is absolutely pathetic to do so.

Football as an open competition is long gone. From now on there will only ever be winners from the Sky 6 (although i'm probably giving Spurs too much credit and I don't think we'll see a repeat of the Leicester season). I would advise anyone not to engage in top level footy at all - go and support your local non-league team, you can pay at the door, it doesn't cost 50 quid or more, and it's a level playing field. If you absolutely have to support a premier league team then, sadly, you'd best pick one of the 6 (5?)

I think the future of football depends on the outcome of the man city case. If man city win then it throws the whole ffp into disregard and you will see the likes of Newcastle and city pushing on and City will continue to dominate the league.

If they lose then it will nullify those teams and be a big win for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man utd. But it may also be better for us in our current state because with the new stadium on the horizon we will have potential for a better turnover than most teams outside the super 6. Would need to see a drastic improvement on 'the grass' though.

Once the ownership is more stable and we’re in the new stadium, things will hopefully start to look better. It’s all about survival and getting to that point in any way possible until that stage though.

That really is our only hope ,if we didn’t have the new ground and potentially a new owner who knows what there doing we truly would be finished as a club

My eldest lad is 22 now so its too late for him, goes to all the home matches and comes home feeling totally peeved off, well most of the time.

Who wants to support a predictably reliable and safe team? Who wants 6th place mediocrity?

It's far more exciting to flirt with relegation every season.
Champion, it's the performance that counts not the result. And then realise that we're getting neither.
Anyway, my house is already various shades of blue and it would be far too costly to change it.

Tell him he can go and support any team he likes even Liverpool but for the rest of his life he will always be known as a turncoat, not very nice and he will never be a real supporter of any club he chooses to follow instead of Everton. Also if I find out who he is and where he lives I will follow him everywhere and pull tongues at him!
