Why do you keep supporting Everton?

I would say more like the heroine than alcohol

A very short ‘buzz’ followed by a life of misery
An addiction we can’t get rid of that will eventually kill us.
The board and owners are like the dealers just keep drip feeding us new managers and players to keep the habit going.

#Smackhead FC

Funny you should mention that. NSNO posted this after wolves.

No choice in the matter, really... while I won't ever be able to walk away from it, I do think it's good to try and put a little bit of distance between the club and myself at times. Football is supposed to be a bit of escapism, after all, but it can so easily become yet another one of life's dickpunches - which is where we are right now, and have been for some time.

Yes, there's a difference between dropping Everton and compartmentalising its effect on your life.

They will always by my club.

There are various levels of "support" though.

Used to go every week home and away, then I started to swerve most away games. Then I jibbed off the season ticket and picked and chose my games. Now I may go once a season but watch us on telly every week. Soon I'm not even sure I will be doing that every week!

The sport is rotten, the cost is extortionist and Everton are utter crap, I don't know how people do it every week, fair play to them.

I guess that's the question I'm inquiring to myself as well. Why do I continue to devote extensive amount of my life and in sure there are other fans especially in the U.K. who sacrifice a lot more than me especially those devoted to follow Everton on the road. I just see this club in a perpetual quagmire of ineptitude and shabbiness due to the halfwits that operate this club and I understand hard time befall teams but this feels unyielding and I just want to watch a game of football where I'm not glum, and ultimately its football a game where it shouldn't affect me so but I truly despise the people on the board who enable this dreadful yearly dismay.
A mate of mine went from season ticket holder for about 25 years to not be interested in one fell swoop. Packed it in around 2015 and hardly even watches any football now. Fair enough....although i've told him if we become a good side again he can f-off if he thinks i'm getting him tickets.

How can you not support them, If you are a normal fan, no normal fan can just stop supporting the team, no matter how bad they are, and we all know they are bad, half the time we moan when there is no game, then when we play we wish they were not playing lol
