Wildlife in your Garden

Get the usual hedgehogs, foxes, woodpeckers, have also seen a few of those ring - necked Parakeet's in the garden as well.

How far south are you Lou? From a few escaped captive birds in the 1970s they are now very common in London and the South East with huge flocks of them. They are spreading slowly North however.
There are even reports of a few now breeding in Liverpool, although it's thought that these are probably from local escapees.

They’ve got as far as Scotland now.

They’re all descendants of the original ones in London

Live in the South - East in a place called Wokingham now mate, Berkshire. I remember going to rhs Wisley gardens, and there were loads of them all over the gaff there.

I can't see many of them getting to where I'm originally from (Page Moss, Huyton) mate, they'll just get eaten by the locals!

Never seen any around here yet or heard reports of any, apart from (as mentioned) a few breeding pairs in Liverpool.
I'll look forward to them arriving though ;) (provided they don't get eaten by the locals)

There’s a map of everywhere that they’re breeding mate. They’ve been heading North for quite a while now.

It seems the main thing for them to breed successfully is mature deciduous trees in open areas.

We get Rattlesnakes (western and speckled so far not seen the Red Diamond yet), Wild rabbits (apparently not all hares), various lizards and the occasional mountain lion and or coyote in our yard. Not forgetting the various birds native to San Diego.
Love me some San Diego - spent 18months flying there every week from Houston. Did a bit of work with Jack in the Box on Balboa ave.
