Wildlife in your Garden

Living in a shared house and my landlord hasn't looked after the garden for about 2 years. Mother nature has claimed the whole garden now and almost anything could be in there.

Some delightful wasps going around in the garden today, getting punted with a rolled up news paper when they get close enough.

Apart from the usual things that UK folk have described, I have two sheep who live in my back garden ( they're pets- rescued from a date as a Sunday dinner!). We are surrounded by farmland and very close to Sedgefield racecourse. I have seen tiny bats flying round at dusk; saw three peacocks casually strolling down the road near the racecourse the other day on my way to work. No idea where they had come from. We had a polecat living under our shed for a while. It was really tame so I think it was an escaped pet. The cat was terrified of it. We couldn't find its owner so we gave it to a guy who kept ferrets. There's usually horses and cows in the fields behind our house. We have had loads of butterflies this year - which is good. All different types.

I have frogs and toads trying to have sex with my pond Koi fish so my new pond net keeps them out along with the herons who sit on the fence licking their lips trying to land in my pond - I have had hedgehogs which are full of fleas and Bees nest in my then old shed - I just went in when I was young, and shoved it into a bin bag and put them in the bin .....never got stung , but they were scaring my then young kids .......
I would not do that now as they were not scarce then ......I was not that well off so could not afford the quotes to remove them- oh never try to move a hornets Wasp nest .......deadly........

I have to keep an epipen close by at all times, probably end up dying from one of those little bitches as I often find myself leaving it in my truck or some other dumb place

You’ve got to give it to those frogs Joey, they’re persistent ;)

This wee guy has started coming into my gaff when I leave the window open, he eats the dry cat food. Although the fecker had a go at some flatbreads I had out cooling when I left them for 5 mins.

He's brazen as, I like squirrels so I quite like his visits.20190820_180638.jpg
