Wildlife in your Garden

https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/so-just-mowed-my-lawn.44750/#post-1253613

What a great thread.

Anyway I basically live opposite a farm these days so you name it we get it. Mainly the cats bring back shrews and mice. But seems foxes, badgers, pheasants, rabbits, hates, sheep obvs, cows in the distance, horses ride past all day, and have also seen frogs and umm that might be it. Oh one hedgehog.

Oh and we have Kites in the sky which apparently used to be dead rare but aren’t so much these days. They’re massive.

Hedgehogs are good mate, they eat all the nasties in the garden - slugs snails etc.

You`re lucky to have them in your garden, as they`re on the way out too.

always used to see loads literally flattened in the road .. like hundreds of them, as a kid

its very rare to see one like that now

I'm sure they are ace.
But at 2am when I'm letting me dogs out for a slash and they start ragging them around, im not standing in my garden in my bills getting soaked and covered in hedgehog blood anymore.
I tried having a spy and seeing if I could spot them without success. They must stink to a dogs nose as once I open the door they are off like lightning to get them.

I used to take them out for a late night walk before I moved, but no chance of me doing that where I live now.

That's fair comment. They probably stand more chance with the roads than your dogs ;)
