I do not understand our interest in this footballer.

He has a currently inflated market value of 18M given his return of 2 goals and 4 assists from 24 appearances last season.

Of those 24 appearances last year 21 were as a Left Winger. Where we already have McNeil, Danjuma, and Harrison.

Even if we could get him at close to his true value of approximately 10 - 12M, He does not add value to the squad over the existing footballers at his position.

To spend over 25M defies all logic and reason.

If he plays well, he will be worth 30 million at some point in the future. So then theres no point in paying his potential future value now for a guy that was 4m and then scored 2 goals. Its fools gold to pay 2025 prices in 2023.

Watching him play on the right, he does not like to get to the byline and put a cross on with his right foot. He drifts interior and tries to play a through ball or create a chance for himself via a take-on.

Iwobi already does this when playing in that role. We need someone the can create chances from the right flank, of which we currently have no one.

I see Gnonto as Doucoure's replacement.

Bakayoko would be Iwobi's replacement.

Both of them would likely rotate and adapt to the team over the season and be cemented in for next season.

Thats when contracts expire and we're left with Mcneil and Dobbin.
