Transfer Rumour Wilifred Gnonto

Is a 19 year old winger being signed for a long term investment the deciding factor?

Transfers don't work on arbitrary deadlines set by fans, too many moving pieces and we don't have the cash to just say name your price
Transfers may not work on arbitrary deadlines but relegation works on arbitrary points. Points that we forfeit last year and points that will be forfeit again due to complete mismanagement both historically and currently. It’s hardly shocking news that we need a striker and a winger

And we are working on a budget, waiting for players to be available and negotiating deals that don't mean we can't afford to fill other positions and still build for the future, a future that well be beyond the 20th of august.

We haven't forfeited any points, and panicking in the market paying the wrong fees for the wrong players on expensive long term deals is what put us here. Amazes me that fans can't see the current recruitment team are trying to avoid that with very very little margin for error, but no, we clearly should have got Toffeeman1878 in off a forum to sort it all out in the first week of summer, dead easy.

You’d think after 2+ years of need, the right player at the right price would have been identified. The first target is a saga and then it’s panic stations to sign an absolute nobody who the manager admitted won’t start.

Will be amazed if we score a single goal in our openers without reinforcements. Maybe one or two if we’re lucky.

Statement reads : “Earlier this week, Willy Gnonto and his representatives were informed by the club that he would not be sold this summer. Following those conversations, Willy felt he was unable to play in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town. Despite training for the last two days, Willy has informed Daniel Farke that he still does not feel able to play this weekend and has not travelled to Birmingham for the game tomorrow. This is now an internal disciplinary matter and the club will make no further comment, other than to reiterate that Willy is not for sale.”

Panic stations would be caving in negotiations and paying too much or panic buying to meet silly deadlines.
