Transfer Rumour Wilifred Zaha - January Transfer Thread

Nope. He's just crap

I honestly don't believe there is a great deal to choose between him, Walcott, Bernard and Iwobi, they each have their own pros and cons. But with the level and type of player Carlo is looking at, non of them seem to fit. Iwobi is given benefit of the doubt due age and contract length, and potential to improve down the line.

That's not to say they wouldn't be a great addition to another PŁ side though. Conversely, there's plenty of players other teams would hate to lose that I'd have no interest in whatsoever.

Its all about options and blend. And while I still think Bolasie has enough to play at this level, he just doesn't fit in with ours.

I don't like the idea of this. I'd much rather an experienced CF on loan for one season to cover and support DCL & Richy ... or another young one, but then what is the point of Antony Gordon and Moise Kean

Zaha doesn't make sense as he's not a first choice - only rotation or back up for James or Richy

Boss player, fair play to Palace for not just bending over and keeping him for as long as they have. Reckon there is a slight tint of regret given that they'll never even half the money they wanted a year ago.

That said, our money has been much better spent in more pressing areas of the pitch and also adding a genuinely world class player in James. Would love Zaha here but surely the 30+ mil we'd need isn't there with the money we've spent so far.

Think if any of Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal are really struggling come January they'll be in for Zaha.

And yet, they've resisted the temptation for many years now. Mysterious.

Surely this is blag?

I think a player of his profile would be a good fit, in that it gives us more options to rotate and reshape. I worry about depth beyond the starting 11, but it also means having someone who can give you something different and/or fill in a number of roles, keeps other teams guessing as well. Ancelotti is quite flexible tactically, and it would be a headache for teams setting up against 1 system only to come up against another. Someone like Zaha, who can play up front, or wide left and right allows you to switch things up nicely with Richarlison, DCL and Jamez, switch between 451, 442, 433, or any variation of either quite seamlessly.

Again though, I'm not saying Zaha specifically would be my 1st choice, especially at the prices that have been quoted.
