Seamus Coleman seems to have regained some of his best form, seems to be totally trusted and well regarded by CA who also appears to rate JJ Kenny as satisfactory back up at right back... I just don't think we will be trying to sign another right back. Holgate can play there as well and young Kyle John seems to be a player for the future as he looked well in pre season.
We are short on the right hand side of midfield.
Walcott seems to be slipping out of contention and his performance against Salford did nothing to change that.
Richarlison can play there but he seems to be firmly on the left or up front now and Iwobi just doesn't look convincing from an attacking point of view. When he came on as sub on Saturday I thought he played all over the pitch rather than as a right winger and we have seen previously Bernard just does not have the size, strength or pace to play effectively wide on the right.
Anthony Gordon may be an option but he seems to favour the left side as well.
We need a right sided player. Zaha is an obvious name , he can certainly play left and right sides, is an excellent player and would improve our attack enormously.
That, however, would also apply to several other players as well .
We have tried to sign Zaha before and that certainly is a factor and Crystal Palace did want to sign Tosun before and maybe that could also still be a factor or maybe not.
When we tried to sign Zaha last year there was a mention of players being exchanges which was strenously denied by Everton, but then both players mentioned did end up going to Palace afterwards... so who knows.
My preference would be Lozano after watching him for Napoli against City in the CL but that ship may have sailed.
We have signed three midfielders aged 28,29 and 29 and now I would like to bring players that are younger and have a longer future at the club. But , if we are going to sign a wide player I think Zaha has to be in the discussion.
