No, top 4 is a closed shop again. He had his chance in his 1st season when Man U were underwhelming, but there's no chance that we will finish ahead of everybody expect for let's say Chelsea, Man City and Man U.

Well maybe he'll have another chance when Wenger is gone, but i am not convinced that Martinez will be our manager then. And even then maybe rs will stumble across another Suarez, or Spurs will beat us to it.

And even if he does it's likely gonna be another Villareal-type scenario in the CL. Like @polish said, qualifying for CL is not that important due to the sky money. Let's win a cup, preferably not the Barclays Asia Trophy.

At the risk of this turning into a Martinez-related war...

Because i'm a massive saddo, I have had the Martinez press conference on in the background as i've worked the late shift.

One thing that Kenwright says, as we all know, is "Roberto told me he'd get us into the Champions League".

Now, forget the usual Martinez debate which can be found in the atrociously named thread "Martinez - Who else is wearing the mask?"

So simply, during however long he stays as our manager, do you think Martinez will lead us into the Champions League?

Great thread in these barron times pal.

Not sure it's possible.

There are 5 teams, all above us in the league, that are spending amounts that we could only dream of being able to spend. Then there's Spurs, who are still way better off.

It'd be a truly stunning achievement if any manager achieved it with this board.

We weren't too far off that in Bobby's first season.

It would take a season of real luck and quality IMO.

Every year we say it's locked out. Every year there's a chance. Last year was a massive miss with Liverpool and United performing like they did. The year before we threw it away. We came close under Moyes as well. Our biggest problem is our own mentality. We're better than 13 teams in this league, that's the same boast the rest of the main 7 can make. We normally fare ok in the head to heads as well. There's no reason why we can't get fourth. We won't though because the players will shoot themselves in the foot if they sniff success.

You realize a big reason for the bottling nature of some of our players is down to Moyes? He instilled that mentality into the club and it's fans. Completely lowered expectations.

Will take a while to fix that from top to bottom.

behave lol name the 8 lid?

Chelsea
Man City
Man United
Arsenal
Liverpool
Spurs
Swansea
Southampton

that's a fact. Everton are only slightly ahead of Stoke and West Ham on paper. West Ham will likely overtake you soon, too.
