Will next season be a write off?

The best scenario right now would be for a global pandemic to stop the season starting and give a new manager enough time to settle in and make some signings. This current scenario is worse case in that given the fact we are heading into the Euro tournament it is difficult to get players (from Europe) into negotiations, therefore it makes sense to me if the business is done trying to sign players outside of Europe and even that will be difficult with Boris et al trying their best to stop people coming into the country. I never have written a season off before a ball has even been kicked, but it is going to be history defining with what Moshiri and his crew do over the coming weeks and months. Whatever happens one thing I do wish for is the epidemic of negativity through Evertonians to disappear, its not good for the club, the players or ourselves and has to be a contributing factor over the last ten years. Up the toffees at all times!

No season is a write off. Last season West Ham just survived and at the start of this season, given their opening 10 fixtures they were fully expecting to be right down there again. Leicester were favorites to go down the season they won the league. The year we sold Rooney and we were tipped for relegation we went and finished 4th. Sometimes when the odds are stacked against you that's when you come out and do achieve something special.
Is that likely to happen to us? Probably not. This things tend to happen to other teams but i don't think you can ever write off a season.

I feel almost apathetic to the team at the moment. No manager = no way to progress.

A lack of hope or optimism normally means that my expectations are exceeded with this lot. I honestly however don't think it will take much to turn around our fortunes as there are some decent players there and the dross get ever closer to their contract expiries. But what player if they had anything about them would come with no manager or possibly the managerial overhauls we have had recently?

In summation, get a decent manager and a few choice players and I'll be much more confident, but until then a storm cloud approaches next season.

With us apparently putting long and intensive work into finding a new manager and the summer recruitment plans recently discussed between Brands & Carlo more than likely being thrown out the window, added with the probability of the new manager wanting to keep hold of his current players to see what they’re capable of before any exodus, will next season be a write off for you? Or in other ways will it be a free hit for the manager?
What should the expectations be as is currently?
Write-off

A lot depends on the manager and transfers but seeing a plan being implemented that can improve us and move us forward sustainably is good enough for me this season. If we're going to continue firing managers every year because we're not in Europe we'll never get there.

The cry for instant success is unrealistic and unhelpful.
And never accurate despite Gomes strolling forward. Did he invent walking football?

Yes it will because we will have a new manager once again so it will be a case of it's his first season we can't judge yet, wait till he has all his own players etc. Gets a bit boring really
Don't know who they are yet, but sack him!

In all seriousness, is there anything to feel positive about with this club. My hope is extremely thin, even the ground stuff has gone silent. If the new ground falls on its arse im done, no coming back from that.

We'll give him the next 18 months as a free hit until he is sacked.
