Koeman's comments about fitness were hardly insightful though. Anyone on here could have told you that our squads fitness was pathetic under Martinez.
While I'm sure Koeman and Walsh know what they're doing, football managers make mistakes all of the time and many of those mistakes can be predicted. We all wanted to believe that Martinez had some higher understanding of the game than the rest of us but it turns out that he really didn't.
IMO, it's better Koeman - like Ranieri was also - being honest before the match and saying we weren't up to scratch, than admitting so after the fact like Arsene did yesterday that his side we're not ready.
I said it last week, but any manager who said that their side were fully ready was lying though their teeth. Poch claimed that Spurs were 'flying', but half their team (Kane, Alli, Dier, even Lloris) looked knackered. It was only with a goal out of nothing and when we tired that they started to come strong.
