One additional point on a positive rep note:
Pos rep was great to explain WHY you liked something, or to go above and beyond for something truly special and Like + Pos Rep it. Or, as is often the case when being contrarian, pos repping someone without liking their post so you can then rip it to shreds in a reply without giving the game away, but also softening the vicious blows. I often used it while arguing with someone politely, as a "I don't Like your post, as I disagree with it, but I appreciate the civility you're showing."

In general it makes the forum more dynamic and self-governing.

Also negging feels good.

Again I want to reiterate my viewpoint that there needs to be anon rep capabilities for upgraded lids. The Geneva Convention insists on it.
