Seemed to be avoiding handshakes at the end of the game….becoming quite unlikeable.
Not sure the handshake observation was accurate - I saw shots of many US players interacting with Portuguese team members after.
My bad then…. Maybe it was only one or two…. Could have been selective editing as I didn’t see any of it live.

A large portion of our population is of the mindset that this team in particular (or maybe just some individuals) does not appreciate their position, particularly when compared to other women’s teams around the world. So some of the thinking is, “If you don’t appreciate the country that gave you your platform and made you wealthy, why do you choose to represent it?” Then the conversation gets circular…It’s blown way out of proportion, but it’s the world we live in now.

It's just culture wars garbage. That being said, there definitely is a sense for many that they don't appreciate the honor of representing their country on the international stage and would prefer instead to fight those same culture war battles for the world to see.
