You can assess the value of what she won though when the two favourites were either out of the event or hobbling through it.

But it'd be churlish of me not to say that she's done well for herself, her coaches, her city and the football club she acts as a cultural ambassador for.

Not if you're about to lap them. I was that fast as a kid I'd lap people in the 100 metre sprint. If I ran a 400 metre race now my nan would lap me and she's been dead for 23 years. Who invented the triple jump by the way? I reckon it was some fella standing on lego in his own living room.

Last night's women's 10,000M - Cram determined to claim that BBC darling Hassan of the Netherlands was pushed by the Ethiopian Tsegay who won it. Utter fantasy. Hassan moved out into Tsegay's path to block her getting passed and then crumbled to the ground when she pulled level.

Then Bol fell over on the 4-400M mixed relays.

Not a great night for the Dutch frauds.

Basically she won that title because Thiam was missing through injury and Hall was struggling from day 1 with a thigh injury.
