Ally mcgoist ( exitable kid)
John hartson ( so thick its funny)
Clive tildsley ( like his voice and calming nature)

There my 3 favourites for diff reasons

Hate hate hate John Hartsons co commentary. Absolutely pointless. Can we get some ex managers on please, people with actual insight rather than an ex player who is too stupid to do anything else with himself.

Some of the oldies might remember 1970 when the BBC ran a football commentators competition of the 1970 world cup. Amongst the finalists were Ian St John, Ed Stewpot Stewart, and Gerry Harrison who I think went on the commentate for ITV.

Here's the final hosted by the great David Coleman. Panel of judges includes Sir Alf Ramsay and Tony Book.

Look at that Wales front three - Ron Davies, Wyn Davies and Toshack - not bad! Westy in goal for England with Keith Newton and Bally also in the team.

Sadly the video won't upload - put 'Sportsnight with Coleman - final of the football commentators competition.' into YouTube to find out the winner!

Doesn’t make it on to British TV, but Derek Rae is great. Just so knowledgeable, and a really, really nice fella to boot.

Does the British Broadcast on the Bundesliga.

Wasn't it Idwal Robling or whatever his name was?

Denis Law did a stint as a studio reporter for ITV on The Big Match. He would read a results round-up and then hand back to Jim Rosentahl or Brian Moore. No banter or anything but dead straight.
They didn't have Strictly in those days of course.
