No, Brecel will have to pot him to death. Think Ronnie in the 2020 semi. Selby had him beaten. Ronnie threw caution to the wind and played, in my opinion, the greatest three frames of all time. He won because he didn't try to match superior fire with inferior fire. He couldn't beat Selby at his own game. So he played his own.

The slower the game today, the easier for Selby.

I just want to see him bored for a few days.

Yup, it'll be damage limitation for him today and tonight. If he's within three overnight, he'll be happy enough. Brecel needs to capitalise big time today - and he's doing that, to be fair.

If Luca is to win the world title, he'll have to do it tonight. This is where he must put down the pedal. Selby is usually tired on the first night - but then starts to mount his fightback. Brecel will win the title if he wins tonight's session, because he's playing well enough to pull away if he can deny Selby that foothold.
