Worst Debut you ever seen from a player who turned out decent.

In recent memory, well nearly 11 years now I'd have to go with Sheamus Coleman. Played against Benfica in the Europa and got absolutely rinsed at LB lost the ball every opportunity couldn't tackle to save his life and kept getting beat. It was a horror show. We lost 5 -0 n'all. I was looking out for him since he came from Ireland for 60k. I was 100% made up he was out of his debt. Didn't think he would play for us again.

Then in a match v spurs we were belted with injuries and during the game Hibbert had to move centre back and Coleman came in at RB. He tore up that wing, assisted one and prity much assisted the other getting MOTM.

interesting short interview of him talking about the goodison prem debut.

But yeah that Benfica game was like a massacre.

Think of anyone?

I remember Howard Kendall had a hard time in his first few games for Everton

It might not have been his debut but I remember Lescott playing left back in one of his first games and he was utterly hopeless. When he was next picked there I cringed remembering that game and he made me look an idiot by having a brilliant run of form there. He was better there than centre half for us, nea.

Here is a picture of Messi scoring the winning goal. Check out Besic owning him in the background.

By the way hi GOT x

Jagelka and Baines looked terrible the first few times I saw them.

Baines was absolutely garbage when he first signed. Couldn't do anything right.

Remember going to Hull away, and he was ragged off at HT for Lescott (who'd been keeping him out the team at LB) and we drew 0-0.
We played Jagielka as a CM, which is what we purchased him for... and was very very ordinary.

I remember not being very impressed with Lucas Digne in his debut in a friendly against Sevilla (maybe?) but saying I’ll give him time as there’s promise. Fortunately the ‘time’ needed to convince me was about another 45 minutes.
