Worst Debut you ever seen from a player who turned out decent.

Lee Carsley. Was woeful under Walter Smith, but found his form under Moyes. Think in his debut we lost 2-0 to Ipswich at home, Matt Holland scoring in the top bin.
Then on the flip side there was Ginola who had a good debut against the Arse hitting the post from a freekick, but then failed to deceive there on in.

Here is a picture of Messi scoring the winning goal. Check out Besic owning him in the background.

By the way hi GOT x

He got took out by his own player...

That's all it took, one millisecond of no Mo changed the game.

He's a great example of why you shouldn't write a player off right away

Ended up being a great player for us, but it took him a while to get used to the League. The record fee hanging over his head probably didn't help either

Deffo mate and I think Moyes almost stumbled on a system to get the best out of him.

But in the end, he was 15m very well spent.

Jagielka was terrible in midfield against Metalist Kharkiv. (I think that was his first game).

I remember Mark Pembridge went for a header near the centre circle on his debut, totally misjudged the ball and it bounced on the floor in front of him and then bounced over his head. Would be pushing it to call him decent though, then again he was acceptable enough by and large.

Jagelka and Baines looked terrible the first few times I saw them.

Jagielka first game at home, played him as a defensive mid, the game just passed him by and he looked lost.

Baines looked lost too and physically not up to the pace of the Premier League.

Add Piennar to that list too - looked really lightweight and too slow to start with.

What you dont see with that out of context picture is his Bosnian team mate losing it and him busting a gut over 50 yards to get back to stop messi. Did his best. Its amazing he's even in the frame just a second away from closing the shot down miraculously. When he was nowhere near the break.

Just watching it now, mate. He runs 15 yards, gets caught ball watching on a 1-2 then ends up on the deck.

Well that’s not quite true is it?

Messi picks it up the ball just outside the centre circle shadowed by mo, plays a one - two with a team mate just outside the penalty area on the right, runs round the back of mo, collects the ball in the centre and slots from the edge of the area while mo falls over the central defender who is attempting one of the most ridiculous tackles you’ll see at this level.
