I've only worked for one company so I'll have to go with roles:

Worst: I worked in one of our stores whilst at College and University. Worked in the Cigarette Kisok mainly which wasn't too bad in the grand scheme of things but sometimes we'd help other departments. Hated working on grocery or fresh stacking shelves.

Best: After Uni I moved to Head Office in Technology. Really enjoyed rolling out our Warehouse Management System to all our logistics sites. Had a great team travelling around to the different sites, going out at evenings together.

Current: Senior Technology Manager for Platforms. I manage a fairly big team who support all our infrastructure. Between 500 stores, manufacturing and logistics sites and central its a decent area. I do miss the technical work though.

Worst: third party IT support. Was a decent job for a great boss but no matter how hard you worked any given day, the next day everything was broken and everyone was angry. I'm not built for that and the stress adds until you can't really cope with it. Grateful for the job and experience, but not for me.

Best: flight instructor. Crap job actually, and you either work 12 hour or 2 hour days (based on the weather), but the perks are good. Not sustainable and aviation in general has a lot of flaws as a job. (Has a lot of flaw$ as a hobby as well.)

Current: affordable housing developer. The highs are great but it's largely boring work and the industry can be harsh and I don't like some of my co-workers.

General rule in the aviation industry is that remuneration is inversely proportional to the fun-ness of the flying.
