Older fans will remember when awful tackles were commonplace. However were there an tackles that stood out as being particularly bad? Or any player in the past who was seen as especially dirty? Personally I think Kevin Nolan, the slimy Kopite rats challenge on Anichebe was the worst I've seen. It was disgusting and unprofessional and was actually something in my opinion he should of been charged by the police for. He has no intention of winning ball, just hurting Anichebe.

Anichebe sued him for lost earnings and won. Horrific "tackle".

Witsel threw one in a few years ago. Stomach turner. Also that elbow by that scumbag who's name I forget down on the south coast, think it was against spurs. Blindsiding someone is very cowardly. Shame the game doesn't cater for straighteners anymore, unless it's haircuts.

I digress …. Schumacher on Batiston ?
Awful challenge
Yep, another one who should have been done for assault. I can also remember a very bad one by Dave McKay playing for Spurs, but can't recall who the the victim was.

Saw the thread title and came to post the very same.

Didn't like Nolan before that, have despised him ever since. Boils my piss he's regularly on BBC podcasts. Wasn't a tackle, but honourable mention to another thug, Shearer for deciding he didn't like the shape of Lennonsnhead when he was down on the ground. Word is he avoided a blatant FA charge by threatening to quit England if he was charged.

Arsehole.
