Palace were at Hull the day it was announced that the City had been nominated as the up coming European City of Culture. This, as you may imagine, was greeted with much mirth and ribaldry from the sophisticated South Londoners.
The Hull fans immediate response was;
“Here for the Culture,
You’re only here for the culture!..”
Which, fair play, was greeted with a good round of applause from the Palace fans. It was otherwise quite a lary day with Hull fans fighting their own stewards when protesting against their owner of the time who wanted to change their name, plus a very late winner for 10 man Palace which made outside after the game a challenge.
So, I don’t mind Hull. Leeds then I suppose.
