Whilst I fear that we will go down, the thread is premature. We haven't been relegated yet. Time enough for this type of discussion at the end of the season

There's a case to be made for Benitez never really having a chance because of the fans reaction to him. I don't think now is the right time for this argument though. I do think some that moan about decisions made at the club though should reflect on the consequences of their actions in driving Benitez out because they totally destroyed his authority over the players. That really was an own goal
Hi mate, do you like changing history to suit your agenda

Who's arsed. We'll never know the answer. The only question is will Lampard keep us up, or should we try one last roll of the dice?

Even someone like Carlo would struggle this season.

The squad has been stripped bare over 3/4 seasons and we are now getting what we deserve for it.
Mate we have blown 350m on crap. Digne was not our saviour. He gave away too many stupid frees that put us under pressure. James turned up now and again.

We have a terrible, not bothered squad of millionaires. They are killing us supporters who love this Club.

To put it mildly, players aren't daft. They could see the fans with banners demanding Benitez be removed, fat spanish waiter and all that stuff. Those players were all thinking ... 'why should I pull my plums out trying to learn this fellas plans and ideas etc when he ain't going to last... they already want him gone...'

You can argue of course that the reaction by some was predictable. When that decision was made and he was appointed though, that should have been the end of it and he should have been judged the same as the other managers. I just think he never stood a chance and it spiraled from there.

I think the time for this inquest is at the end of the season though.
Nonsense. Sorry, but nonsense.

Sure.... James and Diane, our two most creative players last season were the problem with the squad...

Reality is we have been selling without replacing all the way back to Deulofeu and Lukaku.

Last summer we allowed all but an injury prone left back to leave.

Refused to replace injury prone older past it players (ie coleman).

We may have spent £350m but we have sold most of it on a free without replacing.

They weren't putting out their worth in wages for a club under financial pressure.

Do you see an option in the poll for Big Sam? Do you Jenny?
No, it was a straight yes or no, all speculative of course, since Rafael had 19 points and Frank 6 so far, and needing another 13 just to catch his figure up, it's an interesting question.
Of course the sensible answer is neither stood a chance with this squad
